| The Woman Within Weekend
- This is a programme designed by Women, for Women, and staffed by Women
- The fee per weekend is R 3,000 with an early payment discount of R 300 available and limited bursaries in some cases.
- This is a residential programme - the fee includes both accommodation and meals. Staying on-site is an essential part of the weekend and is mandatory. The weekend is held in Malmesbury, just outside cape Town. Travel information is provided closer to the weekend.
- The programme runs from Friday 6.00pm to Sunday at approximately 5.00pm.
- We ask that you arrive well rested - Friday evening runs until approximately midnight, Saturday begins at 6.45 a.m. and runs until approximately midnight , and Sunday begins at 7:15 a.m. and concludes between 4 and 5 pm.
- The training is similar to the Mankind (New Warrior) program, and yet very different.
- Participant to Staff ratio is 1: 1 – Generally there are between 16 – 24 participants, with a maximum of 24.
- This can be a very intense and emotional experience, and may not be for you at this time.
- This is a "guided" program in that sessions are in sequence, leading the participants to descend into one’s deep feminine self and retrieve a part that has been buried for one reason or another; then to ascend with that lost part reclaimed and to celebrate the wholeness that is felt.
- The program is not intended to be a substitute for therapy, and it complements any therapy.
- Women in all stages of their "journey" can and do gain from the Women Within experience. It is designed in such a way that each woman will find her own path.
- The staff do not lead, they follow a step behind. All staff have "walked the same Women Within path".
- There are always choices throughout the weekend - you may decline from participating at any stage.
- Sessions include: journaling, small group work, large group work, individual sharing, meditation, movement. Most sessions are held indoors; however, we encourage you to dress according to the weather because there is movement between buildings.
- The phrase "Trust the Process" is very common among Women Within participants. We ask women not to disclose our program content for many reasons - two of them being: licensing rights and personal experience. My experience may not be the same as yours, and in specifically outlining a session I may inadvertently set you up to be disappointed if you do not experience the same result. My journey is mine, yours is yours, and how we interpret and / or react to stimuli is very different based on our family history and current status.
- While not an integral part of the training itself, we encourage participation in an "Empowerment Circle" after the weekend, if possible and available in your area. This circle is a group of women who have completed the training and wish to come together to support, encourage, and challenge one another in the continuation of the journey began on the training weekend. Again, this circle is not intended to replace therapy. This circle is intended for support and the sharing of a common bond.
- This work is for women of all ages, from 18 years to...
- Whether or not you attend with a relative or friend is up to you to decide. Discuss this among yourselves. There is the opportunity for separation- usually there are two teams with two groups each.
- There is a Honouring evening held in Cape Town on the Monday after the weekend to which friends and family are invited.
- Women Within has touched the lives of over 6,000 women in North America, Canada, UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria Norway, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Monaco, Italy, Greece, South Africa, and Malta.
